During my 2025 internship with the Iowa Cubs, I had the opportunity to help design a new alternate uniform. The goal was to create an identity that represented Des Moines and celebrate where the Iowa Cubs call home.

 

What followed was collaboration, feedback, revisions, and creative problem solving. Through many iterations, we developed a look that not only looks great on the field but also represents the community well.

 

When I joined the organization full-time in March 2026, I jumped back into the project, this time bringing the identity to life. I worked on creating a cohesive visual brand using elements, textures, photos, and logos inspired by both the uniform and the city itself. Those assets were then applied across social media, print, marketing, in-ballpark graphics, email, and more. We also coordinated photo and video shoots featuring players in the new uniforms, along with a merchandise photoshoot to support the launch of the collection.

 

I'm incredibly proud of how this project came together. There were challenges along the way, but I'm grateful for our team that continued to push forward and deliver something special.
